Jens Voigt is a German former professional road bicycle racer for severalteams, the last one being UCI ProTeam Trek Factory Racing. Voigt competed in the Tour de France a record-tying 17 times and twice wore its famed yellow jersey, though he never challenged to capture the overall title. His career achievements include winning the critérium International a record-tying 5 times and a number of one-week stageraces, as well as two Tour de France stage victories. In September 2014, he set a new hour record. He lives in Berlin.Co-author James Startt is a sports journalist who has followed the Tour de France for over twenty years. His Tour reports are published in Bicycling Magazine and other cycling publications. He has worked closely with Jens Voigt for three years on his blogs and columns. He lives in Paris.

Great story and well written book
Audible Test Abo, verbunden mit einem Hörbuch über mein Lieblingssport, klasse! denkt man sich. Vom Deutschen Autor nur auf englisch verfügbar? Na okay, "da lernst du dann ja ein paar Fachbegriffe" hab ich mir so gedacht.Download, reinhören und... fassungslos das Handy angestarrt. Das muss ja jetzt ein Witz sein.Da macht sich jemand über Deutsche lustig und äfft den Akzent nach. nächstes Kapitel... immernoch, ein weiters bringt auch keine Lösung.Fazit: dieses Höhrbuch ist absolut nutzlos!! wer bitte kann sich diese schreckliche Ausprache länger anhören als man brauch um die Stop Taste zu drücken?!Ich bin extrem enttäuscht! Immerhin hab ich dafür kein Geld ausgeben müssen.
Autographed copy.Jens Voigt will always be remembered by cycling fans for his sense of humour as well as his fearless style of riding. The best part of this book was the beginning which was about Mr Voigt's childhood in East Germany, during the Berlin Wall and German Border Zone era. His recollections of life under communism offer a Western reader more insight into the lives of common people on 'the other side'. I would have liked to hear even more. That said, the book as a whole is a fun and easy read that is hard to put down. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this author
The reader learns about Voigt's early life as well as his life as a professional cyclist. The candid nature of Jens' writing is refreshing and informative. An enjoyable read.
Enjoyed the read. Given its jensie it is only appropriate that it's written a little differently than most cyclist bios. Great to find out about his formative years in east Germany that sculpted him into the rider and man that he was.
A master in the art of the long distance break, Jens was a breath of fresh air in the pro pelethon, will be missed.
